Finland takes a step forward in recognising openEHR

Marand and the IT service company CGI have agreed to expand their cooperation from the UK also to Finland. They will be combining Marand's state-of-the-art Think!EHR platform and CGI's long-running experience in the Finnish healthcare and social care sectors and the development of data information systems.
CGI’s intensified co-operation with Microsoft in harnessing Azure cloud technology for Finnish healthcare will make it possible for the Think!EHR platform for open data management to be fully applicable in the Finnish healthcare system and its medical teams.
Leena-Mari Lähteenmaa, CEO of CGI Finland explains, “In an ageing population in Finland, we need to pay more attention to how well-being and health are promoted as a preventive measure and how to make the treatment more customer-oriented and effective. Here, new technologies and better utilisation of data are key.”
Marand CEO Tomaž Gornik comments on the expansion of cooperation, “In the UK, for example, we have jointly implemented new services and data asset utilisation. I´m very pleased to see our partnership expanding to Finland.”

Marand’s open data platform is currently present on three continents, in 13 countries and covers the healthcare needs of more than 15 million people.
